Designated Dead Head

Without any information prior to implementation the BNSF has changed the requirements before departed when DDH. If you are designated to dead head at the time of tie up you can leave immediately. If you get activated to dead head later you must be off at least 4 hours prior to departure. The reason is, if you have 4 hours off whatever you had left of your original hours of service from your call out of Belen, when going on duty to DH will then used rather than going to straight limbo time. Example : you work an 8 hour trip to Winslow tie-up at 2000, at 2300 you are activated to DH you can't leave until 0001 to allow for the 4 hours off. This allows you to use the 4 hours left in your original hours of service in the DH call instead of going to straight limbo time. If there are multiple limbo time violations BNSF will most likely pull down that portion of the agreement again. It is in our best interest to make sure we don't have over 30 hours of limbo on a monthly basis. You can keep track of this by looking at option 2 employee information.
